Netease Games‘ Onmyoji series of games will be getting a Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration! We only have a teaser image for now, but we can probably safely assume Gojo Satoru and Itadori Yuji will be made playable. Going by previous collaborations like with Kimetsu no Yaiba, the collab should be applicable for all its games, namely the base RPG, Arena, the card game and the auto-chess spin offs. The Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration is likely to be staying in China’s Onmyoji releases for the time being, until they confirm its availability outside of the country. Licenses are tricky things after all.
Somewhat hilariously enough, this particular announcement was preceded by a Sanrio collaboration with the franchise, as well as one with CLAMP. You can see the other teasers below:
The Sanrio collaboration looks to confirm Bad Badtz-Maru, Cinnamaroll, Gudetama and Hello Kitty in some capacity. It’s possible other characters might make cameos, even if they don’t get dedicated billing. Meanwhile, the CLAMP collab is far more vague, as there are many works under their name, from Cardcaptor Sakura to xxxHolic, which is quite the range. There’s also the Yoshitaka Amano collab, which is possibly a line of skins for the characters of Onmyoji.
Much like the Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration, the licenses for these collaborations would also make it debatable if they’ll make it out of China anytime soon, but hopefully they’ll be popular enough for Netease to give it to their international fans.
