OneeChanBara ORIGIN Releases Date Announced

Slay zombies in style with OneeChanbara Origin, a hack and slash coming to PS4 and PC. The game releases on PS4 on September 24th, with the PC version releasing October 14th.

To commemorate the 15th anniversary of the sword fighting action game series OneeChanbara,

the events of THE Oneechanbara and THE Oneechanbara 2 have been brought back to life on PS4/PC

in full HD! It offers a new take on the story of the two half-sisters, Aya and Saki, who are bound by

their mutual hatred for one another and locked in a brutal fight to the death. In addition, all the

main characters have been redesigned by the one and only Katsumi Enami for the series’ first

installment available in other languages.

The game follows two sisters in a zombie-filled Japan. Despite being raised separately, both girls take up swords to become zombie hunters. Their paths are forced to cross as Saki, the younger sister, seeks to kill her older sister in a bid to bring her mother back to life.

The game is a cool looking hack and slash, with interesting mechanics. Timing your combos will reward you with better speed and damage. Additionally, as your character gets bathed in zombie blood, they can enter a berserk mode. This mode allows you to do damage to more advanced enemies, known as the Mudmen.

It doesn’t stop there, though. Doing enough damage in berserk form then triggers Xtatic Form, further increasing your moveset.

Oneechanbara is an old franchise, with Origin’s release commemorating 15 years. The original Oneechanbara was a title on the PS2.
