This August, Netflix will be releasing a variety of new titles ranging from the anticipated live-action adaptation of the pirate adventure manga, One Piece to the family animation film, The Monkey King.
So without further ado, here are some titles coming to Netflix within the coming weeks.
One Piece – Premiering August 31st
The live-action adaptation of the bestselling pirate adventure manga by Eiichiro Oda. The story follows the protagonist Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) recruiting his pirate crew and setting off on a journey in search of the ultimate treasure known as the “One Piece”.
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten: Season 1 – Premiering August 1st
When slovenly Amane Fujimiya falls sick after lending his angelic neighbor Mahiru Shiina his umbrella on a rainy day, she offers to care for him and his messy apartment.
Onimai: I’m Now Your Sister! – Premiering August 1st
A lazy gamer who has not left the house in years must now go back to school when his little sister’s little science experiment gives him a confounding makeover.
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead – Premiering August 3rd
A live-action adaptation of zombie comedy manga of the same name. The story follows Akira Tendo (Eiji Akaso) who works at an exploitative company where he suffers endless hours of overwork and harassment from his boss. One day, he wakes up to discover his town overrun by zombies and suddenly feels excited at the prospect of not needing to work anymore.
After witnessing his co-worker becoming a zombie, he realizes that he would rather be eaten by zombies if he could not do what he wants. So with that in mind, Akira comes up with a bucket list of 100 things he wants to do before becoming a zombie.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 2 – Premiering August 8th
The second half of “The Seven Deadly Sins” movie, with stories written by original manga author Nakaba Suzuki.
Follow the journey of Tristan – the son of “The Seven Deadly Sins” protagonist Meliodas and his wife, Elizabeth, as he struggles to conquer his inner demon and battle with the Deathpierce, who threatens his mother’s life.
Kanang Anak Langkau: The Iban Warrior – Premiering August 11th
A skilled Iban tracker joins the British Army to battle against a communist insurgency and becomes one of Malaysia’s most decorated war heroes.
The Monkey King – Premiering August 18th
Inspired by an epic Chinese fable, The Monkey King is an action-packed family comedy that follows the Monkey King (Jimmy O. Yang) on an epic quest to claim victory over 100 demons and an eccentric Dragon King (Bowen Yang).
Mask Girl – Premiering August 18th
3 Names, 3 Lives, 3 Murders. “I am Mask Girl.”
