Bearing the tentative name, Project: Fighter, Tencent Games announced this One Piece mobile fighting game at their annual games conference. With an official website already established – here – the game is under development by More Fun Studios and is authorized by Bandai Namco Entertainment. You can check out the announcement trailer below:
Project: Fighter features a variety of One Piece characters in a side-scrolling beat-em-up, with the typical controls of virtual joystick, an attack button, what looks to be three other skill slots and one additional skill. It’s probably a dodge button, but considering it doesn’t always show up on the preview trailer, it could be something else instead. The flashy super moves will be present as you might expect.
Going by genre conventions, the game will probably see you move from instance to instance, culminating in a boss fight at the end. The game will probably have PVP in some form, though we’ll have to wait for confirmation on that, as well as info on whether the game is adapting any particular arc or will feature a mostly original story, and what its eventual name will be. The game is presently only confirmed for release in China, once again, but do keep an eye out for it regardless.
