If you are a fan of Slam Dunk, we got a good news for you! DeNA China has recently announced that they have obtained the official authorisation of Slam Dunk (anime series), and they will be developing a Slam Dunk mobile game in cooperation with Toei Animation!
For those who are new to Slam Dunk, it is a Japanese sports-themed manga and anime series written and illustrated by Takehiko Inoue, where its story is all about a basketball team from Shōhoku High School in the Shōnan area. The manga series has sold over 121 million copies in Japan alone!
The Slam Dunk mobile game will be featuring 3 types of real-time PvP modes including the 3 v 3 half court, 3 v 3 full court and 5 v 5 full court. The iconic characters including Sakuragi Hanamichi and Rukawa Kaede will be featured as the playable characters too (of course).
Judging from the trailer, the gameplay would be similar to the some of the other basketball games such as NBA 2K18. As a fan of Slam Dunk, we are super excited about the game as we can finally enjoy an official Slam Dunk themed game on mobile devices! Hope there won’t be a lot of P2W elements though…
The mobile game is still under development so no actual release date is not disclosed yet, but the developers are planning to release it in China this year (2018). Stay tuned for more information! You can visit their official website and click around for some small teaser too.
