It looks like fans looking forward to OCTOPATH TRAVELER: Champions of the Continent are getting to play the game early, as the SEA version launches 10 days ahead of its previously announced release date.
Fans can now download and play OCTOPATH TRAVELER: Champions of the Continent SEA, with servers officially opening today.
The surprise comes from the original NetEase Games announcement on Facebook, where it was said the title would launch on December 17th.
OCTOPATH TRAVELER: Champions of the Continent is a mobile spinoff of the Octopath Traveler JRPG series, having been originally released in Japan even before the release of OCTOPATH TRAVELER II.
It features the same iconic HD-2D artstyle popularized by the first title, as well as an all-new story that lets you choose the order in which you want to fight the major bosses.
The SEA version of the game has been open for pre registration since its announcement in November, promising 620 Rubies and more if they hit their goal of 500,000 sign-ups.
While the game was published by Square Enix in other regions, their games are often distributed by other companies in the SEA region, as was the case with Neir Reincarnation as well as SINoALICE, the latter of which was first distributed by Nexon before moving to Pokelabo.
