ForwardWorks, a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment, has just announced Nyorokko, its asymmetrical multiplayer for the Android and iOS platforms. The game is scheduled to launch in the early summer period in Japan as a free-to-play title with the usual microtransactions.
Nyorokko’s primary selling point is that it is being produced by Japanese celebrity Tsubasa Honda, a self-professed online game enthusiast, and she has worked on everything from game design, character design and the service model. To realise her dream project, ForwardWorks and even Microsoft Japan are supporting its development. ForwardWorks will be acting as publisher while Microsoft will be providing its Azure PlayFab development platform for the project. As for the game itself, Nyorokko will see eight players split into teams of Visitors (Angels) and Keepers (Humans). Two will assume the role of angels, while the remaining six will be humans. Each team will have a total of 10 minutes to achieve their victory conditions. If the concept sounds familiar that is because it is. If you have played something like Among Us or Unfortunate Spacemen, then you will be right at home with this.
Another thing that is interesting about this project is the fact that it will only run for a total of six months. The producer has worked on this game with the notion that it will be a six-month special experience from start to finish. During the course of its existence, the game will be holding special events and introducing new characters. For the time being, a connection test is being held between 23 April 2021 and 24 April 2024, and the app can be installed now from the Play Store. Recruitment for the connection test will end once there have been 10,000 downloads. If the concept of this game entices you, then be sure to drop by the official website for more details.
