With the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 imminently arriving this June 5, Nintendo has confirmed start up issues and compatibility issues which include a long list of original Switch games.
Official lists posted on the official Nintendo website have shared all the game titles that have start up issues on the Nintendo Switch 2 and game titles that can start up on said console but have in-game compatibility issues.
For a brief summary of the lists, many popular Switch titles are still under investigation regarding the start up issue. Many of which are DOOM: Eternal, ENDER MAGNOLIA: Bloom in the Mist, Final Fantasy, Little Nightmares Complete Edition, Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival and many more. A major surprise was seeing Fortnite as a part of the list. However, a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game is planned to be released upon the consoles launch. To further summarize the list of games that are able to start up on the Nintendo Switch 2 but still contain in-game compatibility issues, popular titles such as Alan Wake Remastered, Fall Guys, JUST DANCE 2019, HITMAN 3 – Cloud Version, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and Stumble Guys are included with compatibility issues when attempting to play these games. When reviewing both lists, the number of games written down are no small feats. As the Nintendo Switch 2 offers a wide range of improvements there still remains some major issues before the console is ready to be released worldwide.
Furthermore, Nintendo Switch mains must not give in to the large numbers and be disappointed, for there is still much to look forward to in the regards to the upcoming future of this new console.
