Nintendo has opened up an official Nintendo website and online store for Thailand.
You can now access Nintendo’s website in the Thai language for the latest news on their products. It also means that people in Thailand may also have an authorized Nintendo service center to bring in consoles and controllers for repair.
If that’s not enough, Nintendo has also partnered with local online retailer JD Store to sell Nintendo products in Thailand including consoles, first-party games, controllers, and accessories. You can buy a Nintendo Switch OLED for 14,990 THB or 1,872 MYR.
Nintendo seems to be slowly increasing its influence in SouthEast Asia. Thailand will be the second Southeast Asian country to get an official Nintendo website after Singapore. Nintendo products have however been officially distributed in the region through the third party company Maxsoft, including Malaysia and Singapore through the online store Lazada.
This does also make you wonder if Nintendo will begin translating their first-party titles into Thai. It would make their games more accessible to the Thai market but then again, they may simply bank on players knowing English to play their games.
Regardless, it’s still good news for Nintendo fans in the region and hopefully leads to Nintendo bringing more localized products to Southeast Asia in the near future.
