Nintendo had announced that they’re taking in as many as 10,000 participants for an upcoming closed playtest which they have simply called Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program for a new feature that currently we have no knowledge of. A feature that is supposedly coming to their subscription-based online service, Switch Online. The application for the playtest operates on a first-come first-served basis for those outside of Japan, whereas those in Japan will have to go through a raffle system format if the number of applicants exceeds a fixed amount.

So how can you join? In order to be eligible to participate in this, participants must have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Membership, be at least 18 years of age, and be located in either the United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, or Japan.
Fot your information, Nintendo Switch Online launched officially back in 2018 and offers various features, including cloud saving, online multiplayer, voice chat, and a library of NES, SNES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color games, for a monthly subscription. The additional Expansion Pack tier, introduced in 2021, includes a library of N64, Sega Genesis, and Game Boy Advance games, as well as DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Splatoon 2.
