Today, episode 2 of Cyberpunk 2077‘s Night City Wire aired, showing off and explaining the origin stories for V, a little of the music, and the gear you’d be using when the game launches 19 November 2020. The last episode aired about a month ago, and an Episode 3 is promised, which we might be able to expect in the coming month. In any case, let’s check out the new details with this latest episode.
LIFE PATHS
The 3 origin stories for V are Street Kid, Nomad and Corpo. Do you start out living on the streets, wanting to build your legend? Do you leave the only family you know out in the Badlands, to find something new in Night City? Or did you get disillusioned by the corporate life and decide to throw it all? Take your pick.
Philipp Weber, Quest Design Coordinator, says your choice of life path will be affecting you throughout the game. You play who you want to be from beginning to end, with things happening depending on your background (and of course, your choices). If you were the street kid, you’re definitely gonna know some of the lowdown in the alleys, for example. The Nomads out in the deserts – the Badlands – value family above all, yet you’ve decided to lose that for Night City, and you’re trying to find your way in. Maybe you were all for the corporate life, and you’re just doing your job.
It would look like separate paths will have you meet different NPCs along the way to kickstart your journey, though we’ll have to wait for the full game to see which of these may cross depending on backstory and choices. One of them is Padre, a Fixer, who are basically the middle men of Night City, for a Street Kid V. Will he be your ticket to being a legend?
MUSIC
Johnny Silverhand’s in-game band “Samurai”, has music played by real life band, Refused. They go into the feel of the music – contemporary, anti-establishment – bringing punk rock to the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Three tracks are already available to listen to on your streaming platform of choice, so listen in to the soundtrack of this world!
