NieR Replicant will be getting a so-called “upgrade” in NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… (yes, that is indeed its full title). Via Famitsu and Games Talk, the following details were revealed, as shared by Twitter user MysticDistance:
- Producer Yosuke Saito: “The game is not just a remake or remaster, but an upgraded version, hence the title.”
- New elements have been added to the game
- Fully voiced
- Teaser trailer featured concept art
- There may be new endings, but Yosuke Saito says he “doesn’t know”
- New songs and old ones re-recorded by Keiichi Okabe
- Grimoire Weiss voiced by Hiroyuki Yasumoto
- ToyLogic is developing the game, but Platinum Games’ Takahisa Taura will also be involved
- Release date is not confirmed, but hoped to be during the 10th anniversary of the franchise
- An entirely new character will be added, so that “older players can also enjoy the game”
- 2B’s Yui Ishikawa and 9S’ Hanae Natsuki will have small roles in the updated game
- Note: This does not mean 2B and 9S will necessarily be appearing in the game
Gematsu also has the current list of other Japanese VAs who will be in the game:
- Protagonist (Boy): Nobuhiko Okamoto
- Protagonist (Young Man): Kouji Yusa
- Yonah: Ai Nonaka
- Emil: Mai Kadowaki
