NieR Replicant Emil Cushion Now Available For Pre-Order

Square Enix has announced a new cushion bearing the likeness of Emil from NieR Replicant, letting you have the iconic pseudo-mascot as part of your living room set.

The NieR Replicant Emil cushion is available right now from the Square Enix store at a special Pre Order discount of 42.29 USD (RM175.48), though when the promotional period ends it looks like it will be available for 46.99 USD (194.99) . According to the website the cushion will be available from January 2022.

Rather than being a flat object with Emil’s toothy grin on it, the cushion is a whole solid sphere, featuring a stylized rendering of the character. It sits at 30cm in height, so it should feel extra good to squeeze on those days where you really feel the Weight of the World.

Despite primarily appearing in NieR Replicant and its Western release NieR Gestalt, Emil has become the defacto face of the NieR series thanks to series producer Yoko Taro only appearing in public wearing an Emil mask. That being said eagle eyed fans and pedants would also note that Taro’s version of the face has a crack running along the sides, which has become a way for fans to differentiate between when something was Yoko Taro related vs being Emil related.

Emil also appears in the sequel to Replicant, Automata.
