NieR ReIn, otherwise known as NieR Re[in]carnation, will be releasing in Japan on 18 February. Along with the date announcement after it was previously delayed from a supposed late December launch, it will be having a launch collaboration with NieR: Automata. You can check out the collaboration trailer below:
The event will see 2B, 9S and A2 as playable units, though their availability was not mentioned. Presumably at least one of them will be in the gacha, since that’s how these collabs usually work.
Pre-registrations remain open for NieR ReIn while you wait for the Japan February launch, which currently stands at 400,000. To recap, the milestones as provided on the website are as follows:
- 100,000: 100 Jewels
- 200,000: 400 Jewels
- 300,000: 600 Jewels
- 400,000: 1,800 Jewels
- 500,000: 3,000 Jewels
- 1,000,000: 3,000 Jewels, 1 Gold Mama Statue
For the uninitiated regarding the gameplay, from the closed beta, there were two parts to the game: world exploration and battle system. The White Girl will run around in a 3D rendered world to designated spots on the mini map, occasionally having character banter along the way. To progress further in the beta main story, you will need to have a completed Weapon Story. In Weapon Stories, there will be both cinematics and battle sequences, the latter of which can be done both manually or automated. Battle parties will comprise of three characters, capable of attacking, using a unique skill or their equipped weapon’s skill.
There’s yet to be news regarding the North American / Europe release, so stay tuned.
