Level-5 and Netmarble have released a new trailer for the upcoming mobile MMO Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds. The game comes out in Japan later this year. It will release on iOS and Android devices.
The trailer shows us the basic premise for the game, in which the player character is drawn into a fantasy world. It’s a pretty great elevator pitch for the game, since it shows a lot of the game’s main features.
Rather than being thrown into the fantasy world via traumatic accident, the main character is pulled in by beta testing an upcoming game. The game is called Soul Divers, and has the player in some matrix-esque pod.
It also shows several of the game’s monsters, all animated with that Ghibli-tier whimsy that fans have come to expect.
The trailer implies some sort of romance between the Swordsman and Witch characters, who meet in the real world as well as the fantasy world.
We probably won’t know more about the game until they show more of it at Tokyo Games Show this weekend. The Level-5 stream is 2pm Malaysian time on September 26th, so make sure to mark your calendars.
