Originally a joint-development by Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software, next year’s Call of Duty (COD) title is now a Treyarch-led project expected to be Black Ops 5.
Kotaku editor Jason Schreier also claims that sources within Activision attribute this change to tension between Sledgehammer and Raven. This tension is said to be caused by frequent disagreements over the game’s development between the two development teams.
We have not received any official news on this, nor has there been any comments from Activision about this, so take all of this with a grain of salt. If you’re interested, the full Kotaku report is here.
