Universal Studios Japan has announced a new opening date for Super Nintendo World, after previously having to postpone the park’s opening past its original February 4th launch.
According to USJ, the new date for Super Nintendo World and its opening is March 18th, whereby fans can check out the all the currently available attractions and decorations in the park.
In a statement by USJ, they said they would also take additional sanitary measures to keep guests safe from the ongoing pandemic which caused the delay in the first place.
Aside from the usual social distancing and sanitization of the park, they’ve said they would be looking into numbering tickets and limiting the number of people in the park at any one time. They would also be limiting the amount of time you can spend in total in the park, meaning you can’t hog the park by sitting in there all day.
Super Nintendo World is a park built around Nintendo’s Mario IP, featuring rides based off of both mainline Mario games as well as spinoffs like Mario Kart. Nintendo and Universal Studios have previously released CG renders of the attractions, including a cool rendition of Bowser’s castle, complete with a statue of the iconic Mario villain.
As with many of Universal Studios’ parks, they will also have various mascots roaming for photographs, such as Toad.
