We all know and love Ragnarok Online as it was pretty much our childhood game that we played on the PC. The game that features cute 2D graphics had pretty much caught our attention and now Tencent is developing a new one specially for the mobile. Yes, this is not the first one. Previously, we had another RO game for the mobile called Ragnarok Mobile: Eternal Love or Guardians of Eternal Love, which is the official English version of the one that was released in China and then Korea recently.
However, during ChinaJoy 2018, Tencent Games announced one of their many new games for the mobile which is Ragnarok Online: Love At First Sight (translated from 仙境传说: 爱如初见). Apparently, this is a collaboration between Tencent Games, Dream2 and Huanle Entertainment as they were mentioned in the trailer. The game’s design is unlike the original RO game. This time, the characters will be in 3D in a 3D world with its rotatable camera on the map or battlefield.
Players will be able to experience new features like a day and night setting, the ever changing weather, climbing, special encounters and a 20 player PVP. Of course, it wouldn’t be an RO game if they didn’t have their beautiful towns, class advancements, costumes and mounts. Since it’s going to be on mobile, the controls will be like an ARPG optimized for the mobile setting.
Dream2 is also the Chinese studio who made the previous RO mobile, Ragnarok Online: Guardians of Eternal Love/ Eternal Love. Though Gravity, the original creator of Ragnarok Online, was not mentioned in here, Gravity was involved in Ragnarok Online: Guardians of Eternal Love/ Eternal Love.
As of now, there’re no news on an English version. But we’re pretty sure that they will have an English version – which will probably be released months later after the game is launched in China. Hopefully, they recognize the English player base and they will have it ready by their official launch date as well.
