The new Pokemon, as always, have received a mixed reception from fans. some players think they look good while others consider them to be ugly or badly designed. It should be noted that so far the only images we have of the new Pokemon are the raw 3D models seen above from the datamine. Chances are they’ll look better when we see them in the game and with their full Ken Sugimori artwork.
Being a game based on Meiji Era Japan, the Hisuian forms are heavily based on Japanese mythological yokai or cultural figures, like Hisuian Decideueye being based on a ronin samurai, Hisuian Zoroark being based on a kitsune and Hisuian Goodra being based on a Shussebora, a dragon yokai that lives in a seashell.
The strangest change however are with the two Sinnoh Legendaries, Dialga and Palkia, who have now been given some rather uncanny horse-like legs. Many have deduced that this is because, at some point in the game, they will be fused with Arceus, similar to how Kyurem fuses with Reshiram and Zekrom in Pokemon Black and White 2.
Which is your favorite of the new regional variants?
Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be available on the 28th of January 2021.
