At today’s Pokemon Presents showcase, two new mobile titles for the franchise were announced: Pokemon Smile, and Pokemon Cafe Mix!
Pokemon Smile is certainly very geared towards the younger generation, for those older Trainers who now have kids of their own. It’s a creative way to get them acquainted with Pokemon for sure, while trying to make a game out of something kids might consider a chore. It may not be for everyone, but it’s very cute, so it can have that! The kids will also learn the idea of catching Pokemon once they brush their teeth.
There will be no in-app purchases for this title. Pokemon Cafe Mix will, though, revolving around you opening a cafe and serving cafe-loving Pokemon with, well, cafe fare. These Pokemon can also join to help around the cafe as you work to expand your menu and the cafe itself! It is a puzzle game where you swirl round the screen on your mobile device, also available on the Nintendo Switch.
You’ll be able to befriend Pokemon, and utilize their skills to help you around in the cafe (puzzles). Expanding the cafe and adding new items will be important so that new Pokemon will visit! The game is set for a 23 June release.
Besides Pokemon Smile and Pokemon Cafe Mix, Pokemon GO will also be getting Isle of Armor avatar items, as well as Mega Evolution sometime 2020, and Victini teased to come during the digital Pokemon Go Fest. They are also at work to make it easier to play Go from home.
