Prepare for Monster Hunter World’s upcoming expansion Monster Hunter World: Iceborne with this list of monsters, familiar or new! Some classic monsters will be joining in with new beasts, so let’s get to it.
Acidic Glavernus
As covered before, the Glavernus is returning. This time, it’s an acidic sub-species, with a tail that can cut through armour. It can periodically sharpen its tail too, so watch out. It can be found in Rotten Vale.
Banbaro
New to this expansion is the Brute Wyvern Banbaro. It can charge at hunters with its massive horns. Don’t stand still, it can throw boulders and trees at you too. Find it in the Hoarfrost Reach.
Beotodus
Also new is the Piscene Wyvern, the Beotodus. The extremely sharp fin on its head lets it carve through snow and ice with ease. Find it swimming in the Hoarfroast Reach.
Barioth
Returning from the previous games is the Flying Wyvern Barioth. Its tusks can chomp through thick armour, so watch your step. Find it in the Hoarfrost Reach.
Brachydios
It hasn’t been officially seen yet, but the Large Wyvern will definitely be returning to Monster Hunter World.
Ebony Odogaron
A new sub-species of Odogaron. It can go into a mindless frenzy after feasting on a kill. Watch out for its wide-hitting Dragon Element and Bleeding Status attacks. Hunters will also need to manage its starting charge-up mode. Find it in the Coral Highlands.
Fulgur Anjanath
This subspecies of Anjanath uses electricity instead of fire against potential threats. Its attacks gain Thunder when charged up. It roams the Hoarfrost Reach.
Glavenus
This Brute Wyvern’s tail is like a sword, swiping to and fro. Every strike makes it glow and burn hotter, increasing its threat. Hunt it down in the Wildspire Waste.
Nargacuga
Yet another returning beast. This Flying Wyvern’s dark fur enables it to be stealthy as it hunts its prey from afar. Encounter it in the Ancient Forest.
Shrieking Legiana
This new type of Legiana can freeze hunters on the spot, before swooping down for the kill. Another resident of the Hoarfrost Reach.
Tigrex
This Flying Wyvern returns, able to stun with a roar. Its thick, powerful legs allows it to charge at you. It’ll be at both the Rotten Vale and Hoarfrost Reach.
Velkhana
A myth and legend in the flesh. Velkhana is said to be able to control the cold at will, freezing all with its breath. Who knows, you might find it at the Hoarfrost Reach or Elder’s Recess.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is slated for September 6 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One, with PC getting the expansion later.
