Tango Gameworks’ latest action horror game Ghostwire: Tokyo has received a new trailer at PlayStation Showcase 2021.
Tokyo is overrun by deadly supernatural forces, perpetrated by a dangerous occultist known as Hannya, causing Tokyo’s population to vanish in an instant. Ally with a powerful spectral entity on their quest for vengeance and master a powerful arsenal of abilities to unravel the dark truth behind the disappearance as you FACE THE UNKNOWN in Ghostwire: Tokyo.
Ghostwire: Tokyo will be the latest horror title helmed by Tango Gameworks, a Japanese Studio founded by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami.
The game has the player wake up in a disserted Tokyo covered in fog, working with unseen entities to face a series of otherworldly enemies in first-person supernatural battles.
It looks like it’ll be combining the team’s previous experience working on The Evil within with the more Japanese-style horror similar to that of the Fatal Frame games just instead of a small haunted village, you’ve got the whole of modern Tokyo to get through.
It is certainly an interesting take on more Japanese urban horror and all those techno-psychedelic visuals look gorgeous.
The game is currently releasing on the PS5 and PC however as Tango Gameworks was recently bought out by Microsoft vie the Bethesda Purchase, it is likely that the game will only be timed exclusive and will come to the Xbox consoles later on.
Ghostwire Tokyo will release in 2022.
