A new Digimon Manga by Tenya Yabuno will begin next month in the magazine Saikyo Jump.
We currently know little about the manga but the fact that it is being written by Tenya Yabuno is pretty important.
Tenya Yabuno is the mangaka that wrote many classic Digimon manga including Digimon V-Tamer 01, which introduced the character of Taichi Yagami (Tai Kamiya) even before the anime did, as well as C’Mon Digimon. He also designed many of the early Digimon.
Digimon fan forum Will The Will says that the manga will be out in Shueisha-owned Manga Magazine Saikyo Jump in its November cover-dated issue. It will be released on October 4th.
The main character seen in the key art bears a striking resemblance to Hiro, the main character from the upcoming anime Digimon Ghost Game. His partner Digimon seems to be Pulsemon, the Digimon that serves as a mascot for the Digimon Vital Bracelets. Patamon, Bokomon, Koromon, and Motimon can also be seen in the flier. The main character looking like or possibly being Hiro could suggest that it is an adaptation or spin-off of Digimon Ghost Game. It could also be a case similar to Yabuno’s previous work Digmon V Tamer and its relation to the Digimon Adventure anime.
Both Digimon Adventure and Digmon V Tamer 01 have the same protagonist Taichi Yagami however they are completely different stories, with different cases of side characters and even different partners Digimon, Agumon in Adventure, and veedramon in V-Tamer.
It could be the same case with Hiro here. We’ll find out when the manga releases next month.
Digimon: Ghost Game will premier in the fall 2021 anime season.
