ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) have announced new 300Hz gaming laptops, 120Hz 14-inch gaming panels and high resolution displays at CES 2020! Higher refresh rates, quicker response times, richer colours and deeper contrast for enhanced picture quality: all increasingly demanded by gamers, and displays are at the forefront. ROG is committed to panel technology, highlighted by a CES 2020 Innovation Award for a 300Hz version of the Strix SCAR III esports gaming laptop, alongside the all-new Zephyrus G14 purpose-built 14-inch panel possessing high refresh rates in an ultraportable.
ROG is staying on the cutting edge of HDR displays, and was the first to show and manufacture a gaming laptop with real HDR panel in the special editions of Zephyrus S GX701 and GX531. At CES 2020, ROG showcased a new AUO panel with mini LED backlight that offers amazing local dimming detail as part of the future of gaming visuals, with 4K resolution and capable of pushing up to 1000 nits.
300 Hz is important for pros, but ROG isn’t forgetting about the rest of users, wanting them to benefit from beyond 60 Hz too, hence the high-refresh option in the new Zephyrus G14. It’s a dramatic step-up from typical 60 Hz panels in ultraportable laptops, improving gaming experience.
Gaming laptops are also used for content creation, so ROG has worked to reduce the average delta E by at least 40%, for improvement in colour accuracy and fidelity. ROG illustrated the difference with its 4K Ultra HD panel demos in the Zephyrus GX502 and GU502 at CES 2020. Almost all Zephyrus slim gaming laptops also come with PANTONE Validated displays to suit this purpose.
ROG continues to show its leadership in displays at CES 2020, and it will continue to do so to shape the future of gaming laptops tomorrow.
