At their Netmarble Together with Press event, Netmarble has revealed plans to develop an open world RPG using the Game of Thrones IP, in partnership with HBO Studios. There’s a teaser trailer that you can watch below:
Netmarble will be developing this Game of Thrones game for mobile, a game that will “blend” elements of a single player title and large scale multiplayer into one. You’ll supposedly be able to experience a story not seen before in the TV series, putting you in the middle of the conflict of the characters, and the like. It’s supposed to appeal to fans of the original, letting you experience the dramatic tensions in an immersive world.
Under subsidiary Netmarble Neo, it seems that you’ll be able to explore the Westeros continent as a seamless open world and promising console level quality, weather changing elements, all running on Unreal Engine 5.
No release date was specified for the title, nor is there an official website at time of writing. Presumably this should be made available globally, considering the pop cultural influence of this series, but fans will have to stay tuned for further information. Considering the book series itself hasn’t officially concluded, who knows what will happen.
