Netmarble Corp, the Korean company behind big mobile games such as MARVEL Realm of Champions and A3: Still Alive reported big earnings in their financial report for Q3 (July – September) of 2020.
The company announced a net profit of $77 Million, a 9.2% Year-on year increase. It also reported total sales of $535 million, with projected sales for 2020 sitting at $1.5 Billion.
The total statistics in their press release are as follows:
Total Sales | $535 Million (+3.6%) |
Operating Profit | $74 Million (+3.6%) |
Net Profit | $77 Million ( +9.2%) |
While they are doing better compared to other years, the report shows that Total sales are actually down quarter-on-quarter. Despite that, profits still went up, with Net profit up 8.6% quarter-on-quarter.
Part of this is because they kept operating costs down compared to last quarter, which means less overhead and therefore more profits per sale.
Additionally, Netmarble also broke up their top earning games. According to Netmarble, “Overseas” sales made up 75% of the company’s sales this quarter. The top earning games and their revenue percentage are as follows:
- Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross (17%)
- MARVEL Contest of Champions (15%)
- Lineage 2: Revolution (9%)
- Blade & Soul Revolution ( 8%)
Netmarble is the parent company of Kablam, which develops mobile games with the MARVEL IP such as the already-out Contest of Champions and the upcoming Realm of Champions. On top of that they also publish popular mobile games such as The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross.
