Here’s the official summary for the anime:
“Power is everything.” Jin Kazama learned the family self-defense arts, Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, from his mother at an early age. Even so, he was powerless when a monstrous evil suddenly appeared, destroying everything dear to him, changing his life forever. Angry at himself for being unable to stop it, Jin vowed revenge and sought absolute power to exact it. His quest will lead to the ultimate battle on a global stage — The King of Iron Fist Tournament.
Going by reactions to the trailer, the commenters seem to be in agreement that this is roughly revolving around the storyline of Tekken 3, with appearances from Tekken 5 characters. At the very least, we can already assume the anime adaptation will be having its own storyline without being a direct adaptation. A lot of people are asking for cameos from their favourite characters, so we’ll have to see how many of them will actually make it in.
It won’t be too long before the anime comes out, so let’s see how well it can capture the spirit of the games.
