Netflix’s Official Geeked Account has shared a picture for the script for the first episode of a Live-Action One Piece Series.

The episode is titled “Romance Dawn”, the name for the first arc of the manga/anime that explains where Luffy got his hat and was inspired to become a pirate. It is also the name of a prototype manga that creator Eiichiro Oda wrote before officially starting One Piece.
The authors of the script are Matt Owens (worked on Luke Cage and Agents of Shield) and showrunner Steven Maeda (The X Files and Lost) and it of course mentions that it is based on the works of One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda.
Netflix also shared a picture of the series logo. Both tweets have the tagline “no matter how hard or how impossible it is, never lose sight of your goal #OnePiece”

Netflix and Oda announced that they were working on a One Piece series back in 2017 but they had not released any news of it until now.
Oda himself is apparently an executive producer for the series and will be working with Tomorrow Studios who have previously worked on the comic book adaptation of Snowpiercer and are currently working on the Cowboy Bebop Netflix adaptation, which we recently got on set pictures of. This image was made by Oda to announce the series:
As of right now, there is no date for when the live action One Piece will air.
Considering that One Piece is currently over 900+ episodes, it’ll be interesting to see how much this series will cover and for how long it will last in terms of seasons.
