It’s going to be one month until the release of Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop live-action adaption on November 19th and Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for the series.
You can watch the Netflix Cowboy Bebop teaser below:
With exactly one month to go until the show launches on 19 November, hang with Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) as they kick ass and chase bounties… you know, if they don’t get themselves killed first.
The teaser certainly seems to be trying to fit with the more grungey retro aesthetic of the 90s sci-fi classic. It also shows some humor and hints at the plot of the show with banter between the three main leads, Spike (John Cho), Jet (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye (Daniella Pineda), and a glimpse at the antagonist Vicious (Alex Hassell). Seriously though, where is Ed.
Some have been skeptical of the teaser, with the more comedic look and somewhat stilted acting, although it is important to recognize that this is an advertisement that likely does not contain actual scenes from the show.
That being said, many have been presently surprised but how much effort seems to have gone into the production in order to match the style and aesthetic with the original anime compared to previous anime adaptations.
Cowboy Bebop (2021) will be streaming on Netflix on November 19.
