During the anime spotlight for Netflix’s TUDUM fan event, the streaming giant showcased some of the series and movies coming to the platform.
The event was fittingly hosted by Netflix’s own Vtuber, N-ko. Netflix announced Drifting Home, Studio Colorido’s next feature film, following the success of their 2020 film, A Whisker Away. It will premiere sometime later in 2022. Drifting Home tells the story of two childhood friends that drift into a mysterious sea alongside an entire housing complex.
Besides that, viewers were also treated to a look at super-powered heist story Super Crooks and Bright: Samurai Soul, the anime spin-off to 2017’s Bright, starring Will Smith. The former will air on November 25, 2021, while the latter will premiere on October 12, 2021.
In addition, Netflix also spotlighted some of their returning anime series, namely Aggretsuko Season 4, which premieres in December 2021, and Ultraman Season 2, which premieres next year in 2022. Both anime series also revealed new teaser and key art during TUDUM.
On top of that, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie also had time to shine during the event. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who stared in Never Have I Ever, talked to the global voice cast about their experience as the voices of Super Sailor Moon / Usagi Tsukino.
