Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for Leo, its upcoming coming-of-age animated musical movie starring comedian Adam Sandler.
Along with the trailer, Netflix also announced that Leo will premiere on 21 November 2023 worldwide, exclusively on the streaming platform.
The trailer of Leo was dropped today, unveiling that actor and comedian Adam Sandler will be voicing a 74-year-old lizard in the animated musical comedy.
As per the official description, the movie synopsis revolves around Leo, a jaded 74-year-old lizard who has been stuck in a Florida classroom terrarium as a class pet with his turtle roommate Squirtle (Bill Burr) until he learns that he only left a year to live.
With the prospect of imminent death, Leo plans his escape to experience life in the outside world.
Unfortunately, Leo’s plans were derailed by the anxious students in the classroom, as well as a mean substitute teacher, and ended up with the strangest bucket list ever.
Crew & Cast
Aside from being Leo, Sandler also serves as the movie’s producer and writer, while Robert Marianetti, Robert Smigel, and David Wachtenheim direct the film.
Smigel also co-wrote the script along with Sandler and Paul Sado while Mireille Soria supports Sandler in producing the movie.
For the movie’s soundtrack, Geoff Zanelli of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will be taking the helm to compose the score.
The animated musical also boasts a cast of well-known actors such as “Saturday Night Live” alumni Cecily Strong, “Seinfeld” star Jason Alexander, and Stephanie Hsu of “Everything Everywhere All at Once”.
Jackie Sandler, wife of Adam Sandler also joins the cast along with their two daughters Sunny Sandler and Sadie Sandler.
Rounding up the cast are fellow actors Rob Schneider, Nick Swardson, and Nicholas Turturro, while stand-up comedian Jo Coy will also be showing up in the film.
Leo, the animated comedy about an aging lizard voiced by Adam Sandler is slated to premiere exclusively on Netflix on the 21st of November, 2023 and fans interested can catch the movie once it releases here.
