With the raging popularity of the Monster Hunter series and absence of such a game for the mobile, it was only a matter of time before someone capitalised on it. Enter China-based developer NetEase Games, which has just announced Hunter Soul, accompanied by a trailer.
In terms of gameplay, fans of the Monster Hunter franchise will be familiar with much of what Hunter Soul has to offer, with its focus on exploration and 4-player hunting. Much like Monster Hunter, the are no job classes per se, where your role is assigned solely by the six unique weapons which you get to equip, ranging from Greatswords to Gun Shields. The weapons can be further upgraded with materials which can be hunted for.
While Netease Games did not officially confirm a localised version of Hunter Soul, the fact that the game is made in English should be something assuring. More information should be revealed at the ChinaJoy 2017 games trade show later in the week.
