We reported about the lawsuit filed against NetEase’s Rules of Survival and Knives Out by PUBG Corp last week, and now NetEase has come out with a statement saying that they will take legal actions against any clones of their “original creative content” in Rules of Survival and Knives Out.
NetEase claims that Rules of Survival and Knives Out were developed independently using their own game engine with new worldview, features and designs. However, some of their unique features were copied and even defamed by the others (including several well-known companies). Which in result, the cloned features provide a bad user experience as well as causing damage to original market.
NetEase stated that they will take any legal actions needed to protect their rights on the creative contents in Rules of Survival and Knives Out. Will NetEase survive the clone war? Leave your opinion in the comment section below!
