China-based game developer NetEase has a new 2.5D action MMORPG in the works in the form of Legend of Gloria. The game has a fantasy setting which will be familiar to those who are familiar with the Western RPGs, as it pits the classic good forces of Human, Elves and… Orcs? against the evil forces comprising demons and the undead.
The most interesting aspect of Legend of Gloria is the fact that the game drops the traditional MMORPG quest system in favour of a real-time variant where players will receive different world quests depending on how many players are online simultaneously. Pick from a cast of gender-lock classes ranging from Human Mage to Demon Hunter.
Each class has two distinctive skill builds that can be switched during the battle. If the game looks gorgeous, that is because it will be powered by in-house Messiah engine which gives the world a distinctive and vivid look.
