Naraka Bladepoint is getting a fun collaboration with legendary mecha designer Kunio Okawara, best known for his work on Mobile Suit Gundam.
Set to debut some time in 2024, the collab sees Okawara designing a mecha for Naraka Bladepoint character Yueshan- though whether or not this was a skin for base Yueshan or his Legendary General Ultimate has not been revealed.
If you’re a Gundam fan it’s pretty easy to see the influences in the Naraka Bladepoint skin- a lot of classic Gundam-isms are there, from the shape of the boosters to the shoulder pauldrons looking straight out of G-Gundam.
In the livestream, they described the mecha’s weapon as being made from the wings on its backpack.
It’s more than just in-game, though- in the most recent Naraka livestream they confirmed that as part of the collaboration, the design would also be getting a model kit.
The announcement was made as part of the Naraka Fest 2023 livestream aired yesterday, that included other collaborations such as hero skins based off The Soul Land.
Naraka Bladepoint is no stranger to cool collabs- the series famously collaborated with NieR Automata as well, with various characters from the melee multiplayer game being turned into characters from Yoko Taro’s iconic series.
