Naraka Bladepoint Sees an Increase of Over 130K Players After Being Free-to-Play on Steam

It is without a doubt that free-to-play games are often more enticing than paid games, considering its low barrier of entry, and Naraka Bladepoint shows just that, with the game seeing a significant increase in its player base after being free-to-play on Steam.

Naraka Bladepoint became a free-to-play game on 13th July 2023, the same day as the game got its PlayStation 5 port.

According to SteamDB, Naraka Bladepoint has seen the biggest surge of new players in the month of July 2023, an increase of over 130K players as compared to its previous month when the title was still a paid game.

Since the shift to free-to-play, the game has seen more success in terms of player base, being one of the most played games on Steam, as well as having an all-time peak of over 295K players in October 2023.

Free-to-play games will always have a market on Steam, considering that the top 2 of the most played games on the platform are free-to-play titles: Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2.

Naraka Bladepoint is a free-to-play action battle royale game developed by 24 Entertainment and published by NetEase Games Montreal.

The game features up to 60 players duking it out to be the last one standing in a martial arts-inspired melee combat, along with a rock-paper-scissors combat system.
