MYDCF 2023 Announced, Celebrating Creativity and Innovation in the Malaysia’s Digital Content Industry

Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has revealed that the Malaysia Digital Content Festival 2023 (MYDCF) will be held at the end of September at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

MYDCF is an annual digital content industry gathering and this year, the event will be held from 27 September 2023 until 1 October 2023 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

According to MDEC, MYDCF 2023 will be merging core events namely LEVEL UP KL, Kre8tif, and IMMERSE KL as an integral part of the upcoming MDX 2023.

MDEC promised attendees that the festival would provide great experiences through gaming showcases, tournaments, animation screenings, exhibitions, digital comic displays, workshops, and immersive technology demonstrations.

Events and Activities 

MDEC has also revealed the lineup of events and activities of MYDCF 2023 as follows.

B2B Conference (27 – 29 September 2023)

A conference specially tailored for industry professionals, offering a platform for networking, gathering insights from other experts, and exploring potential collaborations.

Weekend Festival (29 – 1 October 2023)

The MYDCF 2023 Weekend Festival is open to the public free of charge and will include the following events:

• Bushiroad Expo Asia 2023 – A tournament featuring 500 players competing in various popular trading card games.
• Beyblade X Tournament –  An Asian tournament of the spinning-top game, featuring top players from the region.
• Mobile Legend Bang Bang (MLBB) Junior Cup – A tournament that invites school students for the third consecutive year to compete in the mobile MOBA.
• Game Showcase by Soft Source Publishing – The unveiling of upcoming games like Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos, Grime, Dread Out 2, and many more.
• Animation Showcase – A showcase featuring titles such as Boboiboy, Mechamato, Ejen Ali, Omar and Hana, and more.
• Sony Malaysia – PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2 demos, and Gran Turismo Rig.

SEA Game Awards and SEA Kre8tif Awards (28 – 29 September 2023)

An award celebrating creativity and innovation in Southeast Asia’s digital content industry and recognizes excellence in games and animation films across ASEAN.

XR Asia Summit (27 – 29 September 2023)

An event in collaboration with Broadcast Elements where experts and enthusiasts gather to explore the latest advancements in Virtual, Augmented, and XR domains.

NoizuCon (29 September – 1 October 2023)

A convention where attendees can immerse in the realms of gaming and pop culture.

Workshops (Every Weekend of September)

In partnership with Xsolla KL, MDEC will also organize a series of workshops conducted by professionals as a means to empower creators with industry insights and skills.

The professionals who will be contributing to the educational sessions are from known studios such as PlayStation Studios Malaysia, Virtuos, Anima Vitae, Epic Games, and CIRCLE Studios.
