My Mermaid announced for smartphones

Japan-based developer Studio Sledgehammer has just announced My Mermaid, its upcoming breeder game for the Android and iOS platforms. While there is no release date revealed yet, a demo video for the game will be showcased at TGS 2022, which takes place between 15 September 2022 and 18 September 2022.

As hinted in the title, My Mermaid has you taking on the role of a trainer for mermaids. You will have set up your own aquarium in order to raise the mermaids in question. Bestowed with a special power, you will also be tasked with communicating with the mermaids in order to help them regain their true power. That’s pretty much it for the story, and it does sound rather surreal. Nothing about gameplay has been revealed of course, although the genre itself doesn’t lend itself to much innovation anyway. Still if you are someone who like breeders, this one definitely one to look out for since there aren’t exactly that many to begin with.

In any case, it is an interesting concept to say the least, so there is definitely something worth looking forward to when the demo is shown off at TGS.
