The newest My Hero Academia animated movie titled My Hero Academia You’re Next has announced its screening date for Japan.
Announced on the official Twitter account, the My Hero Academia You’re Next Movie will be airing in Japan on 2nd August 2024.
As of time of writing, there are still no details regarding an international release, so fans will have to wait a little longer for more details to drop.
Additionally, the official website has also revealed the trailer video, which also includes the staff who will be working on the animated movie.
Tensai Okamura, who is best known for his work in Darker than Black, will be directing this movie, and it will be produced by studio BONES.
Returning staff members from the animated TV series and previous movies include Yosuke Kuroda, who worked as the scriptwriter, Yoshihiko Umakoshi, who is the character designer, and Yuki Hayashi, who worked as the composer, while original manga creator Kohei Horikoshi will be acting as the general supervisor and original character designer.
My Hero Academia You’re Next will feature an original story which takes place around the collapse of society after the heroes had failed to protect it.
From the trailer, we look back at the iconic scene where All Might points his finger at the camera and says “Next, It’s Your Turn”, which was directed at Deku, but it seems like our villain this time who seemingly looks like All Might has seen the message too.
