Moonton, a subsidiary of Chinese tech giant ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, has made all of its mobile games unavailable to players in the United States as of January 19, 2025. The developer has also completely removed their games from US app stores, making them inaccessible for download by US-based accounts.
The affected titles include popular games such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, One Punch Man – The Strongest, Watcher of Realms, and Mobile Legends: Adventure. Players attempting to access these games are now met with notices indicating their unavailability in the US market, citing “circumstances beyond our control.”

The impact extends beyond Moonton and its direct portfolio. The ban is affecting other ByteDance-owned gaming properties in the US, the Nuverse brand, including the popular card game MARVEL SNAP, Land of Empires: Immortal, and Mission EVO.
According to messages displayed across affected games, the developers express their appreciation for their player communities while indicating they are “actively exploring possibilities” to restore service in the future. Players currently have the option to manage their accounts and download their game data through official websites.

This development comes in the wake of recent legal challenges facing ByteDance, after the Supreme Court upheld legislation requiring Chinese divestment of US operations. While TikTok briefly went offline before returning following a presidential intervention extending the divestment deadline, gaming applications under the ByteDance umbrella remain unavailable in US app stores.
Players who currently have these games installed can still access their account data through official websites, though active gameplay within the United States is no longer possible as the games have been removed.
