MSI unveiled its latest lineup of next-generation AI+ gaming and business productivity laptops, featuring cutting-edge processors from both Intel and AMD. The company introduced several new models powered by Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2) and AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series, showcasing a commitment to advancing AI computing capabilities in portable devices.
The new Intel-powered lineup includes updates to MSI’s Prestige and Summit series, designed for business and productivity. These laptops boast significant improvements in AI performance, with the latest Intel Core Ultra processors offering up to three times more TOPs (Trillion Operations Per Second) compared to previous generations. The integration of GPU, CPU, and NPU allows for up to 120 total platform TOPS of AI performance, enabling more efficient local AI processing.
MSI’s Prestige series now comes in 13, 14, and 16-inch models, featuring ultra-light designs and extended battery life of up to 20 hours for video playback and office tasks. The laptops also include upgraded 5-megapixel webcams for improved video conferencing. The Summit series, particularly the Summit 13 AI+ Evo, offers a versatile 2-in-1 design with comprehensive security features and stylus support.
On the AMD front, MSI introduced new laptops featuring Ryzen AI 300 Series Processors, including the Stealth A16 AI+, Summit A16 AI+, Prestige A16 AI+, and Creator A16 AI+. These models boast 2.8 times more TOPs than their predecessors, optimizing AI computing power for tasks such as running generative AI and large language models directly on the device.
Gaming Devices
In a significant move for the gaming market, MSI officially launched the Claw 8 AI+, touted as the world’s first Windows 11 gaming handheld powered by Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2). This device features an 8-inch screen and incorporates user feedback with improvements such as an additional Thunderbolt 4-supported USB-C port and enhanced tactile buttons.
MSI also introduced the new Venture series laptops, available in various sizes from 14 to 17 inches. These laptops feature Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2), 16:10 OLED displays with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and extended battery life with 100W USB-C PD charging support.
Eric Kuo, MSI’s Executive Vice President and General Manager of NB Business Unit, emphasized the company’s focus on delivering a comprehensive AI+ PC lineup alongside new laptops and handheld devices for gamers worldwide.
The new MSI laptops are expected to be available in various markets starting from October 2024, with prices varying by model and region. The company invites global guests to experience these next-gen AI computing and gaming products at their IFA 2024 booth.
