MSI has introduced their new Vtuber, Mihoshi Mei, to represent the computer brand in Japan.
According to Panora Tokyo, you’ll soon be able to see the MSI Vtuber gracing stores that sell MSI products, as well as the MSI website and various printed materials.
Mihoshi Mei will debut on December 4th, where she’ll be involved in regular Vtuber activities such as streaming on YouTube.
That being said she’s already active on Twitter, where she has 936 followers as of this writing, and has even received support from MSI USA.
According to the Vtuber’s official bio, Mihoshi Mei will be working in the “esports promotion committee”, though it’s unclear if that’s indicative of her job with MSI or just part of the character’s backstory.
As is, there’s no word on if there are any plans for Mihoshi Mei’s activities to move overseas as well, given the global appeal of vtubers.
The character was designed by the illustrator Hoshi, and according to Panora Tokyo she’ll also be receiving a 3D model as well.
The Ongoing Vtuber Trend
Companies having their own Vtubers is nothing new, as many big companies have started hopping on the bandwagon. These include Netflix’s Enko-chan, and even go all the way up to a Vtuber for a major pharmaceutical company as well as AirAsia’s own Vtuber mascot.
