The violent jingoistic vigilante Peacemaker is coming to Mortal Kombat 1 next week as the latest DLC guest fighter.
Previously announced alongside other DLC characters, Peacemaker will be coming to Mortal Kombat 1 on February 28, 2024, for Kombat Pack owners before becoming available for purchase on March 6, 2024.
This specific Peacemaker is the one from a TV series of the same name as well as the movie The Suicide Squad, featuring the likeness and voice of wrestler-turn-actor John Cena, with new lines recorded for his appearance for this game.
For the uninitiated, Peacemaker is an anti-hero diplomat from DC Comics who is so committed to peace that he would do anything to achieve it.
Showrunner James Gunn even described the character as a “piece of sh*t” and a “superhero and supervillain world’s biggest douchebag.”
As a fighter, Peacemaker is equipped with his “expert gunslinging skills, signature helmet abilities, and loyal bald eagle sidekick, Eagly, all complemented by his legendary dance moves and brash humor.”
Peacemaker aside, Janet Cage, the female version of Johnny Cage who briefly appears as one of the alternate dimension characters in the Story mode’s climax, will also join the game as a Kameo fighter.
The upcoming update will also include the promised cross-play support feature, enabling players from PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC to play against each other in Kombat League matches, Kasual matches, and Private matches.
