As we had previously reported, Koei Tecmo announced that it will be releasing Monster Rancher 2 for Android and iOS platforms for Japan in Autumn 2020. The game will also be coming out for the Nintendo Switch at the same time.
Along with new screenshots, the developer also shared more details about the game. As the sequel to the first Monster Rancher, expect all sorts of enhancements for this new release. Apart from upgraded 3D graphics, the total number of monsters that you can raise has been increased from 200 to 400. In addition, the Slate Reproduction feature from the original game will be making its way here, allowing for creature imports.
Taking comments from the first port, Koei Tecmo will be further fine tuning this release ahead of its launch to keep the fun while making it easier to play. Notable additions include Bluetooth controller support and a tournament mode. The Switch version boasts local two-player, which is rather neat.
Also, just like the first Monster Rancher port, generating monsters through CDs is substituted with an online CD title database. Not as cool as popping in physical discs to see what you can get unfortunately, but the other new add-ons should more than make up for it, we reckon.
