Following the release of the first game, Koei Tecmo has announced the sequel to Monster Rancher – localized from Monster Farm – creatively titled, Monster Rancher 2, will also be released for mobile devices – namely iOS and Android – as well as the Nintendo Switch for Japan in Fall 2020. The announcement was made through Famitsu, revealing a few images regarding the release of the title on modern devices:
As with its predecessor, it is most likely going to be a full priced games on the platforms it will be available on. Going by this pattern, we might be able to expect the rest of the Monster Rancher games to be released, of which there are a whopping 14 titles across various platforms. Maybe if Monster Rancher 2 sells well enough, they might even release a completely new title, but that’s just speculation.
Once again, just like the previous release of the first game on the iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch, we’re not expecting this to come with an English release – at least not to begin with, if at all. In any case, the game’s loyal following can play the title on today’s platforms, which was originally released for the PS1. We’ll have to see if there are any plans to localize it some time in the future.
