Monster Hunter World has seen another spike in players, now peaking with over 131K concurrent players on Steam alone.
The game had previously seen a sudden increase in its player base after the announcement of the series’ latest mainline title during The Game Awards 2023.
Two weeks after the previous peak, the game is still steadily amassing more concurrent players, more than 34K than the previously recorded data via SteamDB.
The first being the aforementioned announcement of Monster Hunter Wilds as well as the Return to World campaign, which reignited the interest of long time fans of the series to go back and play World.
Additionally, Monster Hunter World is still currently under a generous discount of 67% thanks to the current Steam Winter Sale; that tying with the announcement of Wilds makes for the perfect opportunity to try out the game in anticipation of the upcoming title.
Another notable factor which could have contributed to the increase in the game’s player base might be due to popular streamer Asmongold trying out Monster Hunter World for the first time on his twitch stream.
