Capcom has revealed new details about the upcoming Free Title Update for Monster Hunter Wilds, narrowing down its release window and providing more information about what players can expect from the post-launch content. According to an announcement on the official Monster Hunter Wilds Steam page on February 27, Title Update 1 will arrive in early April 2025. While no specific date was provided, this narrows down the previously announced Spring 2025 timeframe.

The update will introduce a “formidable” new monster with a strength level above Tempered monsters, potentially addressing feedback from some early reviews that suggested the game was too easy. For those unfamiliar with the series, Tempered monsters are already enhanced versions of the game’s standard enemies, meaning this new threat will provide a significant challenge for even veteran hunters.
In addition to this high-difficulty monster, the update will also include the previously announced Mizutsune, which was teased when Capcom first revealed plans for the Title Update on February 12.
Players who complete Monster Hunter Wilds’ main story will gain access to a new multiplayer gathering hub. This area will serve as a social space where hunters can meet with friends, share meals, and strategize before embarking on hunts together. Capcom’s social media announcement emphasized the upcoming challenges, advising players to “prepare your gear, and resolve” for the formidable monsters that await in the update.
Looking beyond April’s update, Monster Hunter Wilds has additional content planned throughout 2025, including another free DLC scheduled for Summer 2025 and various paid cosmetic packs that will be released throughout the year.
