Befriend monsters and save humanity with Monster Hunter Stories 2 : Wings of Ruin, which launches today for Nintendo Switch and PC. The game is a follow up to Monster Hunter Stories, which was released on the 3DS and later ported to mobile devices.
If you played the Wings of Ruin demo for the game, your progress will carry over into the launch version. as promised.
Monster Hunter Stories 2 : Wings of Ruin follows the ancestor of Red, the main character of the original Monster Hunter Stories. You’re entrusted with Red’s kinship stone, as well as Ratha, a Razewing Rathalos.
Similar to the original Stories game Wings of Ruin will see you fighting as part of a duo with your Monstie, using weapons from the mainline Monster Hunter games. However, unlike the mainline games you’ll be using them in a turn-based RPG format, but still doing all the key things in Monster Hunter such as breaking parts and exploiting weaknesses.
You’ll also be able to do kinship attacks with your Monstie buddy, powerful atttacks based off of what makes each of the game’s collectible monsters unique.
Finally, you’ll also be able to embark on co-op quests with your friends, where you can go looking for Monster dens to get the most genetically superior Monsties for your party.
