Earlier today, Capcom announced the release date for Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak during the Sunbreak Digital Event live stream. The release date for Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak is set to 30 June 2022.
This paid expansion will bring tonnes of new content, chief of which is an entirely new Hunter Rank called Master Rank. This is the equivalent to G Rank in the previous titles of the franchise.
Of course, with a new rank, comes new monsters. Amongst them include:
- Garangolm (Fanged Wyvern)
- Lunagaron (Fanged Wyvern)
- Blood Orange Bishaten (Fanged Wyvern)
- Astalos (Flying Wyvern)
As previously revealed, the Elder Dragon Malzeno will be at the forefront of Sunbreak and its story. Sunbreak follows the events of the game after the Rampage at Kamura.
The DLC will also feature a new locale, The Citadel, which features various environments such as lush forests. It will also have Endemic Life like Morphed Wirebugs and Marionette Spiders.
This paid expansion also adds a new town hub, Elgado. Elgado is a port town and research outpost specialised in researching monsters. There will also be new NPCs who reside at Elgado.
With the release of Sunbreak, there will also be content added to the base game such as new quests and equipment sets. A 13GB update will be required once Sunbreak is out.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak is currently available for pre-order. Pre-order bonuses include costumes for Palicoes and Palamutes.
