Monster Hunter Rise has announced a second demo for the game, ahead of its 26th March release date this month with added content.
In today’s Monster Hunter livestream, the team announced that in the second demo, you’d be able to fight Magnamalo, the flagship monster in Monster Hunter Rise. This demo starts 11th March, so you’ll want to get your Switch ready.
The fight would be much harder than other fights in the demo, giving it serious throwbacks to the lead-up to Monster Hunter World, where a special Nergigante demo was released to give fans a taste of that game’s flagship, too.
According to Capcom, if you still have the old demo on your Switch, you won’t have to worry about the eShop going down trying to download the new one. Instead, it will be applied as an update to the old one.
Similarly, it will also be limited in the number of attempts you have, but updating your old demo will refresh the attempt counter. Unlike the previous demo they didn’t announce an end date for this one, meaning its unknown if you can still play it online with your friends right up to the full release of Rise.
They also didn’t clarify if it would include the new features shown off in the trailer, such as the addition of Switch Attacks which let you customize your moveset. The trailer also confirms the return of old monsters like Nargacuga and Zinogre, as well as Chameleos as the game’s first free update.
